Superman Returns
It’s the best Superman film since Superman (1978) but that’s not saying much. Those parts impersonating previous films are done superbly; the newer additions work less well. A noble failure, and I still wish we’d seen Routh in a few sequels →

I'm not sure where the habit for using the word 'reboot' came from but when people use it when they mean 'remake', I start getting angry in the same way I get angry when people spell it 'loose' when they mean 'lose'. →

Thank you, because I was beginning to think that disliking all these big-budget blockbusters was actually my problem, that I'd become so intolerant of mediocrity and so quick to dismiss and reject that all my inner rage about these terrible films I put myself through had twisted around in on itself and I'd basically disappeared up my own arse. →

The Shape of Things to Come, III
Of those mentioned six months ago; I didn't watch Fantastic Four or The Dukes of Hazzard as they looked awful, I saw Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire and King Kong and thought they were so-so and I saw The Island, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Serenity and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and liked them all. A Scanner Darkly seems to have slipped into a Summer 2006 release so hopefully I'll get to see that in a few months. →
