1. Ataque de Pánico!

   3 May, 2010:

   A short film by Fede Álvare in which giant robots attack Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. Álvare has since been offered a film deal, sponsored by Sam Raimi, so he seems to be following the same route that Neill Blomkamp took, going from his short film Alive in Joburg to District 9 with the help of Peter Jackson.

   Review of District 9

   5 September, 2009:

   Neill Blomkamp’s debut feature of an alien slum in the city of Johannesburg is an impressive action film, though lacking in substance and any real depth despite the rich sense of history and place it has to draw on.

   An extraterrestrial race is forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth. Looks good, though hopefully it won’t get too preachy.
