   Like Carl Erik Rinsch’s The Gift, Johnny Hardstaff’s DarkRoom is another Phillips-sponsored short film, bringing to mind the implausible ESPER machine featured in Blade Runner.

3. Carl Erik Rinsch's The Gift

   3 May, 2010:

   A short film by Carl Erik Rinsch, which to me looks like everything I, Robot should have been. Shame about the TV screen in the video, but this is something to do with a Phillips-sponsored short film project.

4. Ataque de Pánico!

   3 May, 2010:

   A short film by Fede Álvare in which giant robots attack Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. Álvare has since been offered a film deal, sponsored by Sam Raimi, so he seems to be following the same route that Neill Blomkamp took, going from his short film Alive in Joburg to District 9 with the help of Peter Jackson.
